Becca Payne (Rita in The Handmaid’s Tale) is a Greenville, SC native who has been singing as long as she can remember. A graduate of the Fine Arts Center of Greenville, she was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Memphis where she earned her Bachelor’s of Music in Voice Performance. After college, Becca began one on one vocal coaching and performing locally. She has participated in productions with several companies in the upstate including Centre Stage, The Warehouse Theatre, GLOW Lyric Theater, and The Market Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include: Romeo and Juliet (Lady Capulet) (The Warehouse Theatre), POUF! (Betty Miller) (Centre Stage), Mamma Mia (Donna Sheridan) (Market Theatre), Spookly the Square Pumpkin (Bobo) (SCCT), Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife) (FIRE Theater), Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Beatrice) (GLOW Lyric Theatre). She’s very thankful for her wonderful support system and all they do to help her pursue her dreams!
