Summer Kids Music Camp Scholarships:

This year as a part of Glow Lyric Theatre’s effort to give back to the community, we are setting up a scholarship fund for the Youth Organizations we are supporting with the guidance and help of our season partner, the Urban League of the Upstate. Sponsoring a Child for Music Camp requires a donation of $210 for the child to attend which covers the summer music camp (up to 20 scholarships available between now and mid-June). These scholarships will offer children who would not generally be afforded the opportunity a place in the summer kids music camp, and a chance to perform on stage in “The Wiz”. To really create a diverse experience for both the audience and the performers we need to engage a group of youngsters in the community who may have more talent that we know, but who currently do not have an avenue to express them and develop that talent. There are programs for academics and athletics, but this will be one of the first locally that opens up the avenue of the creative arts.

Once the maximum capacity for the summer camp scholarships has been met, any additional donations designated to the Scholarship fund will be split between Glow and the Urban League to support the theater season (and the youth who are involved in it) and give as much back as possible to the Urban League’s youth programs.
