What is GLOW Lyric Theatre?

GLOW is a 501c3 professional lyric theatre that produces opera, operetta and musical theatre. Glow seeks to produce nationally recognized work that is socially relevant and that serves as a unique example of utilizing theatre for social change. We will be rehearsing, building and performing at Greenville’s Fine Arts Center. The 2017 Summer Festival Season marks GLOW’s 7th season, and includes Hair, The Crucible (the opera) and Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers.

 

I notice that GLOW is doing Hair, The Crucible and The Gondoliers. If contracted, will I be involved with all the shows?

Yes. The shows open in repertory, so technicians will be contracted for all.

 

When are the dates of engagement?

June 8th: Construction begins. Performances: July 13th through July 30tht. Load-out of the season is through August 1st.

 

What will my schedule look like during the contract?

A typical day of work goes from 7:30am-5:30pm. Technicians receive anywhere from 1 to 2 days off per week.

 

I am from out of town. Will GLOW house me?

GLOW will provide housing for out of town technicians.

 

If hired, how will I be compensated?

GLOW pays technicians on a tiered contract basis. Technicians and technical interns receive weekly pay/stipend based on experience and job description.
